BIO

I recently (2007) completed a Faculty Fellowship at ITP (Interactive Telecommunications Program) at NYU/Tisch. There I wrote my thesis on neurology, shamanism, psychoacoustics and comparing the effects of sensory stimuli on brain waves. Years ago, I graduated from Brown University. majoring in Visual Art (took classes at RISD, studied music under a student of Stockhausen, studied acting and things like the history of the circus, and created some music for the Computer Science people there, where the idea of computer animation was just being developed. I subsequently programmed interactive artwork in 1996 with one of the first online galleries Ädaweb, under circus tents in the Czech Republic and Poland with avant garde theatrical legends Mabou Mines, for the Istanbul Contemporary Art Museum web biennial, for the Arts Council of Mildura Australia, at the Kitchen in New York with multi-national group Shadow Casters, twice for Cornell's famous online zine cTheory, for artist residencies at the MacDowell, Yaddo and under choreographer Doug Elkins. In early 2009, The Handbook on Computation and Creative Informatics (including my chapter) is due to be published.
My works and writing have been published in books and on CDs all over the planet (mostly on the land masses though). I have music in a juke box in an art museum in Sweden, an essay in a Time Capsule (for after humans become extinct) in Spain and a class of 4th graders and I made computer animations of their drawings for their big show. -judsoN (new york)
